Terms of use
Effective 30 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and ebonis ehf. for Panthyr. They cover the Panthyr app, the website at panthyr.ai, and any assistant you connect to your Panthyr account. You accept them by ticking the box when you create an account. We have written them to be read, so please do.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer law of the country where you live.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Panthyr is operated by ebonis ehf., a private limited company registered in Iceland. You can reach us at hello@panthyr.ai.
These terms govern the Panthyr service: your account, the app, the website and connected assistants. The app you download from the App Store is licensed to you under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement; these terms add the rules for the service and your account. If the two ever conflict about the service, these terms apply.
2. Who can use Panthyr
You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter a binding agreement where you live. Panthyr is not for children. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16 we will close it and delete its data.
3. Your account
You need an account to use the app. One account per person. Give us accurate information and keep it current, especially your date of birth, which Panthyr uses to coach you appropriately.
Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account; email hello@panthyr.ai at once if you think someone else has used it.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription billed through Apple; cancel that in your App Store settings.
4. Panthyr is an AI coach
Panthyr the coach is an AI system, not a person. Its plans, workouts, replies, progression changes and meal-scan estimates are generated by machine-learning models run by the providers named in our privacy policy.
That means Panthyr can be wrong. It can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong for you in particular. It only knows what you have told it and what you have logged; it does not know your medical history beyond that, and it cannot see you move.
Treat everything Panthyr says as a suggestion to check against how you feel and, where it matters, with a qualified professional. You decide what to lift, what to eat and what to do. Panthyr does not.
5. Health, safety and your responsibility
Training is physical and carries a real risk of injury, including serious injury. By using Panthyr you accept that risk as yours.
Panthyr offers general fitness and nutrition guidance for healthy adults. It is not medical advice, it is not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition.
See a doctor first before you start or change a training or nutrition programme if you have or suspect a heart condition, high blood pressure, diabetes, a bone or joint problem, a current or recent injury, or a history of disordered eating; if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; if you are over 40 and have been inactive for a few years; or if you take medication that affects your heart rate, balance or energy. If a doctor has told you to avoid or limit exercise, follow the doctor, not Panthyr.
Stop at once and get help if you feel chest pain, dizziness, faintness, shortness of breath out of proportion to the effort, sharp or joint pain, or anything that feels wrong. Never train through pain because a plan says so.
You are responsible for your own form, warm-up, equipment, environment and the loads you choose. Use a spotter or safety bars when you lift near your limit. Panthyr's numbers are starting points based on what you have logged, not instructions.
Nutrition goals and meal-scan estimates are approximations. Do not use Panthyr to lose weight if you are under medical supervision for your weight, pregnant, or have a history of disordered eating, and do not eat below what Panthyr suggests. Recovery readings from Apple Health are estimates too.
Never ignore or delay medical advice because of something Panthyr said.
6. Free, Pro and fair use
Panthyr has a free tier, Free, and a paid tier, Pro. Free covers logging your training, nutrition and measurements and includes time with Panthyr. Pro adds more time with Panthyr, deeper reasoning, more memory and more meal scans.
Panthyr's AI features, such as conversations with Panthyr and meal scans, are offered under fair use. Each tier includes an allowance that renews weekly for conversations with Panthyr, and meal scans have an allowance of their own. When an allowance runs out, logging keeps working and the allowance comes back when it renews.
Allowances are not fixed. Panthyr may adjust them to keep the service fair and sustainable, and will give notice in the app before a change takes effect. If you pay for Pro, a change to what Pro includes takes effect at your next renewal, never during a period you have already paid for, so you can cancel before it applies.
Free is offered as it is. We may change what Free includes, add limits, or move features between Free and Pro. We will give notice in the app before a change that reduces what you have today. Your data and your own logging never become paid.
7. Subscriptions
Pro is an auto-renewing subscription billed through Apple. The price is shown in the app before you buy, and payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends.
You manage and cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and Pro stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
Apple is the seller of your subscription. Apple's cancellation and refund rules apply, and your statutory rights, including any 14-day right of withdrawal, are exercised through Apple.
8. Your content and ours
Your training data is yours. Everything you log, write or upload stays yours, and you can export it or delete it as the privacy policy describes. You give us the permission we need to store, process and show it back to you in order to run Panthyr, and nothing more. We do not use your content for advertising and we do not sell it.
If you add an exercise to the shared exercise catalog, its catalog entry may stay available to other users after you delete your account, with the link to you removed.
Panthyr's software, exercise catalog, images, text and brand belong to ebonis ehf. or its licensors. You may use them for your own personal, non-commercial training. You may not copy, resell or redistribute them, or use them to build a competing service.
9. Connected assistants
You can connect ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant to your Panthyr account. When you do, that assistant acts for you with the access you approved: it can read and change your workouts, plans, meals, measurements and Panthyr memory as if you had done it in the app.
What the assistant does with your data outside Panthyr is governed by its provider's terms, not ours. You can end a connection at any time from the assistant's own settings, and we can revoke a connection that we believe is misused. A connected assistant is not Panthyr the coach; sections 4 and 5 apply to anything it tells you just the same.
10. Acceptable use
Use Panthyr for your own training. Do not use scripts, bots or other automated tools to send requests to Panthyr's AI features, and do not use them in bulk.
One account per person. Do not create extra accounts or share an account to get more allowance, and do not try to get around allowances, security or access limits.
Do not try to extract Panthyr's instructions or the models behind it, scrape the service, or use it to build or train a competing product.
Do not use Panthyr to break the law, to harm yourself or others, or to resell access to the service. Panthyr may limit or suspend an account that breaks these rules.
11. Changes to Panthyr and to these terms
Panthyr is in active development. Features may be added, changed or removed over time.
We may update these terms as the service changes. For a material change we will give you at least 30 days' notice in the app and ask you to accept the new terms before you continue; the effective date at the top of this page changes with it. If you do not agree, you can stop using Panthyr, delete your account and cancel any subscription in your App Store settings, and a change to Pro applies only from your next renewal, so you can cancel before it does.
12. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Your data is deleted as the privacy policy describes.
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we must for legal reasons, or if the account is used to abuse the service. We will tell you first unless the breach is serious or telling you would put others at risk. If we close your account for a reason that is not your fault, any paid period you have not used is refunded through Apple.
13. What we promise, and what we do not
We work to keep Panthyr available, accurate and safe, and we fix what we break. Beyond the rights you have under consumer law, Panthyr is provided as it is and as available: we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not promise results. Fitness depends on you.
14. Our liability to you
What is never limited. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for intent or gross negligence, for fraud, under product-liability law, or for anything else that cannot be limited under the law of the country where you live.
Ordinary negligence. Apart from that, if we break these terms or fail to use reasonable care, we are liable for loss that was a foreseeable result of it at the time. We are not liable for loss that was not foreseeable, for lost profit or business, or for lost data you could have backed up.
Things outside our control. We are not liable for the acts of third-party providers outside our control, for anything a connected assistant does with your data outside Panthyr, or for the consequences of your own decisions about training, nutrition and health, which section 5 leaves with you.
Free. If you use Panthyr without paying, our liability for ordinary negligence is excluded; we remain fully liable for intent and gross negligence and for everything under the first paragraph.
You do not owe us compensation for using Panthyr as these terms allow.
15. Law and disputes
This section applies unless you live in the United States, in which case section 16 applies instead.
These terms are governed by Icelandic law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live.
Disputes go to the District Court of Reykjavík, except that if you are a consumer you may bring a claim in the courts of your own country, and we will only bring a claim against you there. You can also contact Neytendastofa, the Icelandic consumer agency, or the consumer complaints body in your country. There is no arbitration and you give up no right to join a claim with others.
16. If you live in the United States
This section applies instead of sections 14 and 15 if you live in the United States.
Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by the law of your state, ebonis ehf. is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for personal injury or property damage arising from ordinary negligence in connection with your use of Panthyr. Our total liability to you for all claims arising in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid Panthyr in those twelve months or USD 100. These limits do not apply to our gross negligence, wilful misconduct or fraud, or where your state's law does not allow them.
Arbitration. You and ebonis ehf. agree to resolve any dispute arising from these terms or Panthyr by binding individual arbitration under the Consumer Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association, rather than in court, except that either of us may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. Hearings take place by video or in the county where you live. For claims under USD 10,000, we pay the filing and arbitrator fees unless the arbitrator finds the claim frivolous. The arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section.
Opt-out. You can opt out of arbitration by emailing hello@panthyr.ai within 30 days of first accepting these terms, stating your account email and that you opt out. Opting out does not affect any other part of these terms.
CLASS ACTION AND JURY WAIVER. YOU AND EBONIS EHF. EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND THE RIGHT TO BRING OR TAKE PART IN A CLASS ACTION, CLASS ARBITRATION OR OTHER REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. CLAIMS MAY BE BROUGHT ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS. If this waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim proceeds in court, not in arbitration.
Coordinated filings. If 25 or more similar arbitration demands are filed against us by or with the help of the same counsel or organisation within 60 days, the demands are resolved in batches: an initial group of ten is arbitrated first, the remaining demands are paused, and their limitation periods are tolled while they wait. After the initial batch, the parties will try in good faith to resolve the rest, and any that remain proceed in further batches of ten.
Time to bring a claim. Where your state's law allows, a claim must be brought within one year of the event that gave rise to it.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of Iceland, except that the arbitration section is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act, and your state's consumer-protection law applies where it cannot be waived.
